New year, a new you!

In the New Year, there will be no shortage of resolutions for a healthier and more fit lifestyle.

Along with these resolutions comes a spike in the purchase of home fitness equipment. When that happens, MXD Group is the perfect partner for delivering those purchases to homes across the nation.

When shipping items like treadmills, stair climbers and beyond, it’s important to communicate with consumers what they can expect from their home delivery experience.

There are different service options for home delivery of fitness equipment:

  • Threshold Delivery: We’ll carry the piece past the point of entry to the home. We still won’t leave without making sure her expectations are exceeded, but leave the room selection and assembly to the homeowner.
  • Room-Of-Choice Delivery: We will carry the item to whichever room she wants and make sure she has everything she needs for assembly.
  • Room-Of-Choice Delivery & Assembly: We bring the item to the room of her choice and fully assemble all included equipment and accessories. We’ll make sure everything is working and looking great before we leave.

The arrival of new fitness equipment is a meaningful experience for someone making a new commitment to our consumer’s health and well-being in the New Year. We understand the anticipation, and the life change this purchase represents.

We hope the delivery experience is just the beginning of a healthy new lifestyle.

MXD Group names Yvonne Kalucis new VP of Human Resources

Seasoned HR leader injects logistics company with fresh perspective

NEW ALBANY, OHIO — Yvonne Kalucis joined MXD Group as Vice President of Human Resources in August 2015 amid changes to the logistics company’s leadership structure and growth strategies.

“Yvonne Kalucis has tremendous experience leading successful multi-year HR initiatives for some of the nation’s leading retail brands,” said MXD Group president Terry Solvedt. “Her experience will be instrumental in revamping our approach to talent acquisition and development.”

Kalucis most recently served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources at RG Barry Brands, where she upgraded leadership talent across the organization over eight years. Prior to that she served 11 years with L Brands in various Human Resource roles.

Kalucis’ background outside of the logistics industry drives her new approach to MXD Group’s talent practices. With a set of goals in mind, she is focused on changing the company’s HR schema.

“We want talented professionals to seek out MXD Group as a place where they can do great work,” said Kalucis. “To do that, we have to focus on creating a best place to work.”

Her top three goals for change include promoting a best in class company culture; re-aligning hiring managers’ objectives with candidates’ growth potential; and elevating programs for performance management.

“It’s not just about finding the person who has the experience and can do the job,” she said, “but finding the person who shows potential — who brings passion and enthusiasm to the role and can teach us something new.”

Ultimately she hopes her expertise can guide the company in becoming a magnet and incubator for the industry’s top talent.

Yvonne Kalucis earned her Bachelor of Science in retail merchandising from The Ohio State University and a Juris Doctor from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.

Communicating Shipping Information during the Holidays

MXD Group provides final mile delivery for some of the nation’s leading retailers year-round, including the holiday season. Deliveries in these months add an extra delight — if not some extra pressure — to the experience.

It’s important to follow some simple steps to ensure your consumer is satisfied with their holiday shopping, shipping and delivery experience.

Communicate clearly and early your order cutoff dates. Provide exact dates (and times) in which users should be placing their orders in order to receive their holiday deliveries on time. Provide a chart of order date with corresponding guaranteed delivery dates – and keep your promise! This information should be displayed prominently by your POS or ecommerce site so not to be missed as well as through a targeted email campaign weeks before the final cutoff date. Reiterate the expected delivery date via an order confirmation email. Managing expectations is key!

Remember, the rush is real this time of year. MXD Group’s customer service associates are in overdrive! They will be just as committed to collaborating with you to make sure holiday deliveries are as delightful as any other time of year.

And, don’t forget – winter storms can happen over night! Weather conditions can affect scheduling in unexpected ways. We make sure to communicate this in every scheduling interaction and do our best to still accommodate the needs of the consumer.

The pieces we deliver are key instruments in making the holidays great. Whether it’s a beautiful dining set for the family dinner or a brand new appliance that makes the whole party go off without a hitch — delivering delight is our #1 priority, no matter the occasion.

Happy holidays!
